La Polenta Dinner

  • Club Paesano Cedarville Park 3800 West Powell Loop Gresham, OR, 97030 United States (map)

We are gathering at an honest-to-goodness Italian family dinner, complete with long tables, set end to end, covered in tablecloths and laid out for our very first La Polenta dinner. Grab your moms, dads, kids, aunts, uncles, and nonni and drive to Club Paesano Cedarville Park on Wednesday, June 7th.

The park is located at 3800 W. Powell Loop in Gresham (just east of SE 182nd and Powell Blvd). Arrive at 6:00pm to help set up; dinner will be on the table at 7:30pm; we will all clear the table and clean up about 8:30pm. Your only cost is to bring one bottle of wine!

The dinner will be homemade polenta with meat sauce (vegetarian option available) served family-style on large platters in the center of the table, Parmigiano on the side, Caesar salad, and fresh bread, followed by your choice of chocolate or rum cake for dessert. There will be non-alcoholic beverages for the bambini. Coffee and water will be available too. A simple meal, shared by friends and family.

The Amici d’Italia, Club Paesano, and the Portland-Bologna Sister City Association have teamed up to present this “Italian family” event. This is an evening with no agenda, simply a time for la famiglia Italiana to sit together around a communal table. And just like any Italian family dinner, everyone will help set up, serve, and clean up.

Please RSVP today so we know how much sauce and polenta to prepare! Contact Mike Farley at 503-358- 2506; or Kerry-Lynne Demarinis Brown at 503-287-3255 or email difamigliabari@outlook.com.
